Voerendaal Actief is a political association that was founded in 2009. The party knows its existence from dissatisfaction with the policies of the CDA, PvdA and D66 at the time. Party chairman Raimond Franssen, secretary Suzanne Lipsch and treasurer Biek Lalieu form the daily board. In the elections in 2010, Voerendaal Actief was able to gain your confidence as a voter for the first time, resulting in four seats! In the municipal elections in 2018, we obtained three seats because of your trust and Raimond Franssen, Boris Zinzen and Maikel Mets (replaced by Biek Lalieu) took place in the municipal council.

The philosophy of Voerendaal Actief takes into account, on the one hand, the achievements of the open, free society, in which the individual has the space to give meaning to his own life, and on the other hand, with the need for social cohesion, based on values such as justice, pluralism, respect, transparency, democracy and sustainability. For Voerendaal Actief this means giving each other the space to organize your own life and make your own choices. Give each other the freedom to be who you are, with your own ideas, dreams and wishes, your own culture, faith. The freedom of having your own opinion and expressing it. And all this with respect for each other's freedom.

For Voerendaal Actief, the quality of democratic decision-making is central. The interests of individual citizens benefit from permanent attention to the functioning of our municipality. First and foremost is a reliable, just government that is there to stimulate the free development of people, associations and companies and involves them in decisions that affect them.

Voerendaal Actief does not stick to existing customs, traditions, opinions, interests or structures for the simple reasons that they exist. Voerendaal Actief wants and dares to look further, dares to ask critical questions and is open to innovation. Says goodbye to dogmas and orthodoxy, dares to break through taboos and tackle holy houses. Not based on fixed ideas and ingrained habits, but with guts and a sense of innovation. In other words: Voerendaal Actief distinguishes itself by its basic attitude which can be summarized as: independent, progressive and pragmatic (what is the problem and what is the best solution).
